Bananna

The aquisition of J.D. Edwards by PeopleSoft is a good move on the part of both companies. The price seems reasonable and, at first glance, it seems like a good fit product-wise. The ERP market is brutal with an 800-pound entrenched gorilla on one side (SAP) and a up-and-coming 800-pound gorilla on the other (Microsoft) and a third very belligerent 800-pounder making a mark as well (Oracle).  Mergers are usually pretty stupid and kill value, but this one seems to make some sense (even though PSFT stock is down pretty hard on the news).
